One Thing! Just one.
Everyone is looking for change in their life or progress in some way. I know mental health recovery or general mental health struggles can really reroute life plans, goals, and overall quality of life. I am sure all of us can agree during these times it seems like you have to climb a mountain just to get where you want to be. You'll hear my say this over and over again, but sometimes you have to just take things one day at a time... maybe one minute, one hour at a time.
With all that being said, we all know that action is going to be what helps you get to where you want to be in life regardless of where you start. The best way to describe the easiest form of action to take is summed up by one of my favorite sayings:
"Change one thing and it will change everything!"
Let's break this down. If you want change, just focus on one thing to change and only that one thing! If you wanted to loose 10 pounds and where unhappy with your weight you could: Go on a diet, start working out, start eating differently, the list goes on and on. In my experience, doing all these things at once will not get you where you want to be any faster. Actually it could hold you up because you most likely can commit to some many changes.
So, pick one thing and DO IT. Change one thing, and continue to do it. With mental health it is huge to use your tools like journaling, positive talk and things that boost your mood. Focus on just one thing and make sure you stick to that one thing day by day, month by month. Wait and see because that one thing will change everything.
Find the one change that will be the catalyst for the rest of your life!
